Is there any plan to update this package for xenial?

Even if only in PPA form, it'd be nice to have a build with later rc's for Xenial.

Remember to filter the PPAs for your release. Not all PPAs support all releases. These come with all the usual caveats of a PPA.

If you report a bug and the security and bug fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later. Ubuntu is not a rolling release distribution and packages are left in favour of stability. Especially in the LTS releases where stability is championed
