rTorrent (terminal) torrents will not start downloading.

I have recently installed rTorrent and although i am aquireing the torrent path and entering it into the teminal correctly (according to a rTorrent user sitting next to me) the torrent refuses to start. Nothing happens. I enter the torrent file, press enter and nothing changes. tried many different torrents and renaming to .torrent.

Hi,

I am not familiar with rTorrent. I suggest you try out uTorrent, running under wine. uTorrent gives me much higher download speeds in Ubuntu than other torrent clients. I recommend utorrent version 1.8 (and not the newer beta versions of utorrent). It works fine using wine in Ubuntu and is extremely stable (for me at least ;-)
