From DKMSBuildLog.txt in your bug report:

DKMS make.log ... for kernel 4.15.0-29-generic (x86_64)
make ... -C /lib/modules/4.15.0-43-generic/build

There is an inconsistency between two versions of the kernel packages.

Try rebooting into the newest kernel and execute the commands

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
sudo apt update
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Then copy/paste all output into this question document.
