Midi failed to initialise

Asked by Adrian de Bruyn

I am just beginning to use Ubuntu and I would like to use Rosegarden but I can't get it to work. Something or another fails to initialize. Any suggestions?

Might be you need to install timidy, if you do not have hardware-midi-support.

hm... yes.. I've installed timidity, and before starting rosegarden I use to run:
timidity -iA -B2,8 -Os1l -s 44100

I guess I had also to go to rosegarden configuration and select timidity's midi ports as the ones in use.

help, rosegarden is ridiculous. I can not get midi . I have cubase, sonar and logic 8, but Rosegarden refuses to function.

Can you help with this problem?
