ubuntu 12.10 unstable: root-system in Quantal

Asked by Marco Cè

I couldn't find any versions of ROOT software already packaged for supported versions of Ubuntu, apart from old version 5.18 on Lucid.
It would be nice if this changes in the future: root-system package, version 5.34, is now avaible in Debian Wheezy.
It should work on Ubuntu Quantal with no modification.
It will be included in the official repository of Quantal?

What does the package do? Maybe there is an equivalent in Ubuntu rather than using the same name...

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/root-system/+changelog

So probably not in wheezy.

It's this framework for (particle physics) data analysis from CERN: http://root.cern.ch/drupal
There isn't official .deb package, and I can't find any precompiled package or repository on the web.
Since it was removed from Ubuntu, I compile it from source.
But now I have it installed on wheezy via official repository and it is working:
http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/root-system
Maybe the package is too new? I found that it can be installed by chance a few days ago.

Can you help with this problem?
