Rhythmbox 0.12.5, Karmic-beta, CD Playback: Couldn't start playback No URI handler implemented for "cdda"

Installed Karmic-beta (Ubuntu 9.10-beta)
Inserted Audio CD. Tracks will play in Movie Player, but Rhythmbox 0.12.5 gives error:
Couldn't start playback No URI handler implemented for "cdda"

I wrote a bug report on this, or something similar,437930, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/437930/ . I would suggest you either write a separate bug report or add a comment to 43930 saying that you are observing the same thing. I did gather some data for the developers. But I solved my problem by re-installng Rhythmbox. They might ask you to collect some data also.

For your information - the bug report I wrote has been closed as follows:
that was probably due to a broken installation, closing the report.

       Status: Incomplete => Invalid

You might want to try re-installing Rhythmbox as I did to see if that clears up your problem.

Found similar bug 431027 "No longer able to use CD's from rhythmbox".
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/431027.
Fixes were released recently.
According to developers, the problem was in Rhythmbox and Gstreamer/gst-plugins-base. Upgraded both and problem disappeared.

Problem solved.
