Rhythmbox and Last.fm

Asked by Richard A Bevis

How do I connect to Last.fm through Rhythmbox? I opened Rbox and clicked Last.fm in the sidebar and a message at the bottom said, "Account details are needed... Check your settings." I clicked the Account Settings box and then the "sign up for an account" link and successfully did so. I can log in to the site through Firefox, but when I click Last.fm in Rhythmbox again the "Account details..." message. As I speak the Last.fm preferences window is open, I've typed in my username, but when I try to type my password the dots disappear when I'm only part way through. Consequently, statistics says I'm using an incorrect password. In Edit>Plugins, Last.fm configure the same thing happens. I upgraded recently to Rbox 0.12.5, maybe this has something to do with it? As always any help is tremendously appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm, for some reason simply removing Rhythmbox 0.12.5 and installing version 0.12.0 from Synaptic again solved the problem. I guess this is a lesson on patience. As Michael Valentine Smith would say, "Waiting is." Thanks all.
