Export list of albums/artists

Asked by OldGnome

I own a fairly extensive collection of CD's. I have some of them loaded into Rhythmbox, from an import of my iTunes database. I would like to cross-check my Rhythmbox database with my CD's.

Can I somehow print/export a list of albums and artists?

Hi,

I tried several things (copy/paste, ...) and the only way I could find is using a playlist, this will give you a list of filenames. This might not be what you were looking for, but here's how (this might even help someone else).

1) Open rhythmbox
2) Select all the songs in your music library
3) Right click on one of them and choose Add to play queue
4) Right click on Play Queue (on the left side), choose Save to file
5) At the bottom of the new window, change the extension to m3u
6) Save the file to a place you can find it.
7) Open the file with Gedit or something like that, you'll see a list of filenames corresponding to your songs.

That will work fine for my purposes. I have the file open in OOo Writer and I can edit the stuff out I don't need.

Thanks.
