Yes... it is absolutely possible that "Could the problem be related to the fact that I downgraded back from ubuntu 9.04 to 8.04?"!!!

This makes an unchecked state. (sadly) All the applications are only ready to go up in the versions. And normally only one version by one. Never skip a version when upgrading! (Except LTS to next LTS... then you can skip the versions between.)

Greetings

hi together,
today I got the same problem here with listening to Internet-radio. I wanted to play this radio-channel here:

http://www.primatononline.de/default.aspx?ID=6696

This is our local Radio-station. But when I want to open this stream, everytime I get this error-message, that the html/text-encoder-plugin would be missing. I tryed it with firefox 3.6.14pre as well as with SeaMonkey 2.0.11.
Then I checked my Synaptic, that ubuntu-restricted-extras and all packages for gstreamer are installed. This was already installed. But what is strange to me is, that this does not happen with videos on other pages. These work normal and with nice high resolution. Also downloading of videos works finde for me.

But listening to internet-radio on this page fails.

What can I do, to be able to listen to internet-radio??

My system is Linux-Mint 10 64bit
Desktop: Gnome-Desktop
used browsers: Firefox 3.6.14pre and SeaMonkey 2.0.11

update-state: current

Can you help with this problem?
