At restarts, my play list goes empty

Asked by rocketboys

Everytime I run Rhythmbox player, my play lists are empty..so I have add my songs again..

and what type of formats can Rhythmbox player play? m4a,ogg...etc are they available play on the player..?

and..when I add my songs..howcome they appear in random order..?

I have to browse and click artists to make them go into an order form..

and is there themes I can change so the player looks little bit more pretty?..

Thank you! :)

The playlists should not be empty, and should not empty every time rhythmbox opens.
Try to configure the library path in Edit > Preferences > Library, so Rhythmbox can automagically add your songs as you put them into your "Music" folder.
Also, make sure your music is not on a removable device.
As for the formats: it can handle every format gstreamer can handle (so, you can test with Totem). To add a codec to gstreamer, look for the gstreamer0.10-plugin-<something> into Synaptics. ogg vorbis should play out-of-the-box.
The order it uses is the order you tell him to show you the songs. To order them by "artist", click on the column title (click again to reverse the order). The playing order is the order you see the songs, unless you select "Shuffle".
The theme rythmbox uses is the Gnome theme, it is well integrated into the system.
If you do not like it, you should think of alternatives as Listen, Banshee or Amarok (a KDE application, but one of the best).

Can you help with this problem?
