How to add files the best way. Beginner's question

Asked by gamabunta

I have a directory with an oratorio about 20 files on my usb drive. In rhythmebox I can see come files in the section "Devices", but all files are disordered, and it is tiresomely to find necessary files. Files named by number, without any additional information, such as Album, etc. Thus I see many similar lines. Selection of "Add file" or "Add folder" seems to have no effect with files on my usb drive.

How to listen concrete folder? Maybe to create a new playlist? How to add files to a playlist?

Add the folder if you want to add the entire folder or if you want to select them one by one select add file.
So add folder is the easier option.

Hope that helps

Files appears in the "Music" section of Rhythmebox, after selecting "Add file" or "Add folder". But, if file from /media/disk/... is chosen, this has no effect.

My device is recognized by Rhythmbox, but it contains about 500 files. Different cantatas, masses and oratorio. Each in its folder with files named by 01.mp3,02.mp3,... And in the Rhythmbox's list I see a disordered set of lines "01.mp3 Unknown, Unknown", "08.mp3 Unknown, Unknown" etc. How, for example, to listen all parts of the selected oratorio?

You can add all of your music to the Library, but add the selected Oratorio to an individual playlist that will play right through.

Can you help with this problem?
