Is there a way to get an EQ in RhythmBox
That pretty much sums up my question. I would like to have an equalizer.

start rhythmbox goto edit > plugins > in popup check Equalizer

in download area tar xzf equalizer.tar.gz
cp -R equalizer /usr/lib/
recursive copy directory.

tar -xzvf rhythmbox-
check to see if that directory lives..
ls /usr/lib/
it will list the directory contents..

if cd to the desktop "default download area"
when you "tar -xzvf rhythmbox-
you must copy whole "equalizer/" directory.
to the plugins folder.

to do so "cp -R equalize/ /usr/lib/
all "" in quotes please type what it is in quotes.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I'm stumped. I did this in terminal, and it listed the files.
cp -R equalize/ /usr/lib/
However, when I did this...
cp -R equalize/ /usr/lib/
I get an error that says...
cp: cannot stat `equalize/': No such file or directory

Yes, if I type that into terminal, I get a list of 21 items.

It will not allow me to paste the equalizer folder into the plugin folder
