You may find that the "totem" Media Player can handle the .ram files the BBC. To install Totem, go to

  Applications > Add/Remove

in the main menu, and search for Totem. turn on the checkbox next to "Movie Player", and install the program.

If you want to listen to 6music, for example, go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/ , click "listen live Realplayer" on the right, and drag the "Listen using stand-alone Real Player" to your desktop. You should then be able to open the downloaded "dsatg2.ram" file using Movie Player.

That's what I do, anyway. I'd like to get it going in Rhythmbox too ^^

Apparently it is Mplayer that handles that.

Hope that helps
