rhythmbox Source - Lost Files - what's it for?

Asked by TonyP

just learning how to navigate around Rhythmbox and have inadvertantly knock files from their proper place into Lost Files (I suspect that I did a right click Remove, but I'm not sure).

So I thought, fair enough, I'll just move them back. But you don't seem to be able to do that (right click or drag and drop).

So, what's this folder for?

thanks
Tony P

The folder is for files that has been removed from the disk, or changed their name or location.

If they has been renamed on the drive, you need to rescan your collection.

I recommend that you do the following:

* Edit -> Preferences
* Click the "Music"-tab
* Check the "Watch my library for new files"-checkbox

It should now find the files if they are still somewhere within the library location.

I hope this helps :)
