Getting errors on Rhythmbox on all my MP3 audio; "Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument"

Asked by gkinney

Hi guys, nebie here.

So I copied all of my mp3 files that I was using in my zune to a safe place, installed ubuntu and then copied all the audio into my music folder. Starting Rhythmbox 0.11.5 it told me to install the codecs which I did. Then the system flis through all the files and presents the error on each I listed in the summary.
Version Ubuntu 8.04- the Hardy Heron

Any thoughts?

Hello

Firstly its a reported bug

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/191027

Change the setting of sound (System - Preferences - Sound), from "auto detect". to ALSA, and press "Test" ...it should work.., (I tried OSS..also it works)

Then this link might help you out:

Many thanks! Your advice solved my problem. For other users with the same problem: please make sure to change ALL the options to ALSA...

Can you help with this problem?
