I did not start a music player but it says paused

I decided to remove the rhythmbox app. It is still removing and it's been 1/2 hr. It looks like there is a music player that has now been paused. My main reason for removal was to prevent the use of iPods etc or other devices to connect from a remote location. Had a problem with the plug and play feature when I had Windows. Yuck. Can you tell me what to do?

In addition, I can't stop the app removal process either.

Can you provide the terminal output (if will appear if you click on "detail" in the installation window)
