Can not create a new playlist on Ipod

Before, I think it was possible to create new playlists on a IPod with Rhythmbox. Now, I select the Ipod, create a new playlist but it goes in the main list of playlists. I cannot even move it into the Ipod directory. Would there be a solution?

To create and load playlists in the ipod, use gtkpod

Is it just me, or is this answer missing the point? Shouldn't one be able to create a playlist using rhythmbox? It's a bit crazy to have to install a new piece of software just to upload playlists. I can upload songs to my iPod with rhythmbox, so why not playlists?

Are there any plans to develop this functionality in the future? It would appear to be missing functionality that users would expect the software to have, if not a bug per se.
