iPod won't initialize

I have a 4th generation iPod Touch that was bought brand new, in the box, and when I try to initialize it in Rhythmbox, it won't initialize. When I try to, the Initizialize menu pops up, but it doesn't give me any model options, and once I click "Initialize", nothing happens.

Ipod support still isn't brilliant. You may need to run Windows inside Virtualbox. Alternatively (and easier) is to avoid Apple.
