Rhythmbox won't play Internet .m3u files

Asked by Farrell Swain

I just upgraded to 13.o4 and I can't play my Internet raido sites. I have a few sites entered into Rhythmbox using 12.10 and they worked then. Now the sites just say paused and if I try to remove them Rhythmbox crashes. If I go to the web sites and choose my player of choice Rhythmbox won't play the download. The sites that come with Rhythmbox play but not the ones I have added. I would like to rremve them and re-add them to see if that would work but Rhythmbox crashes when I try.

One site is http://lostcoast.streamguys.us/khum-hi.m3u I can't get Rhythmbox to play that site

Another is http://icy1.abacast.com:80/kplu-jazz24aac-64 Firefox will play that sites player but Rhythmbox will not play it.

If I try to remove thess sites form Rhythmbox it crashes.

Have you tried other players?

No, I haven't downloaded and tried other players. I do know "Video" won't play them anymore either so I can't watch Gnoom! What a gnoom while the play.

Hi Farrell. If Rhythmbox crashes during removing some sites, I think that you should report a bug. Especially if everything worked with earlier version.

Farrell:

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. I cannot play any shoutcast stream. I'm thinking it's a bug in the upgrade. I've checked my plugins, all the appropriate gstreamer packages seem to be installed.

Perhaps a full bug report is in order.

Can you help with this problem?
