Scan network folder for music?

Is it possible to scan a network folder from within Rhythmbox?.... or any Ubuntu music player? I am new to Linux so I could do with a bit of help here. Many thanks for any information you can give me.

Sure, mount it using nautilus, then tell rhythmnbox to scan ~/.gvfs

the ability to do this automatically is incorporated in release 11.10 which will be out in a few days.
