problem music format ?

 hello ,
 I am trying to play some .mp3 songs in the music player
it showing error like Totem could not play 'file:///home/anoopDesktop/songs/INNALE.MP3'. help me kindly.

Did you install the proprietary drivers using Automatix (http://www.getautomatix.com/) or EasyUbuntu(http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/)? MP3 support doesn't come out of the box.

It's much more preferable to install mp3 support using the information at https://help.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/desktopguide/C/codecs.html
