ipod not working properly

Asked by kittenlover

I originally loaded my apple ipod using Rhythmbox then my daughter plugged it into a windows based computer and used itunes to try to download more songs. Now it won't work in rhythmbox. I tried to delete all music from it and they won't delete off the ipod. I open rhytmbox back up and all the songs reload and the ipod does not show anything on it but it does show space still being used. How do I reset the ipod to totally start over? I'm using Ubuntu 10.01 LTS

Well, I would suggest reset the I-pod to factory initial setting by hard resetting and then start over again from scratch

open your ipod, go to settings-General-erase all content and settings

There is not an option under general to erase all content on this ipod. I have checked all and can not find anywhere to erase. I have even tried to reset according to the instructions for the ipod and that does not do it either. I'm stuck now!

To reset the ipod, turn the hold switch on and off three times, then press the center button and the menu button at the same time for 10 seconds or so. Or, check out the FAQ for more information.
