How can I add my audio stream to the Radio section of Rhythmbox?

Asked by Josh

I have a Shoutcast online radio station.

I'd like for my radio stream to be added to Rhythmbox's Radio section so that when people open Rhythmbox for the first time and click on Radio they can pick my stream from the list of available streams.

Click on Radio in the left menu.
In top menu click on 'New' to add a new station.

Or: Music -> add new Internet Radio station.
Insert: http://radio.foxcub.net:8000/foxcub.m3u

Double click or play button plays the stream.

Will that make it so that when my brother installs Ubuntu and opens Rhythm Box, he will see my station listed under the list of radio stations?

Probably not.

Please read my question again.

After adding the station make a copy somewhere of
.local/share/rhythmbox/rhythmdb.xml

and add to your brothers installation.

Or just add the single entry to rhythmdb.xml, which can be opened with texteditor.
Entry scheme looks like this e.g.
http://paste.ubuntu.com/600075/

Can you help with this problem?
