When does it change back? Does it stay the same until you quit Rhythmbox and go back in?

Where is your music located? Is it on a readonly volume, or itself readonly? (It's OK if you don't know, just provide as much information as possible about where your music is located so I can tell you how to find out the rest of the information.)

I think your problem is related to this one:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+question/107196
Could you try running the script I mentioned there on your music library? This might solve your problem. You can also try changing the tags in Banshee.

Also, bugs causing this kind of behavior have been reported:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235945
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530372

In general, if you encounter any problem in rhythmbox, try running it like so:
rhythmbox --debug &> rhythmbox-debug.txt
And attach the log to the question (as mentioned in the second bug report).

Ofcourse, first check if your music is in a readonly location...

"And attach the log to the question (as mentioned in the second bug report)."

Since Launchpad Answers doesn't support attachments, you can instead open the file and, if it's only a few hundred lines or less, paste it directly into a message. If it's longer, you can paste it at http://paste.ubuntu.com and provide the link you get after you click the Paste! button.

Can you help with this problem?
