Rhythmbox doesn't honour system-wide sound device setting

Asked by dale gallagher

Rhythmbox continues to play its output to my laptop speakers despite changing the default output device via the GNOME volume applet to my USB headset. How can I resolve this? I am in the audio group.

Rhythmbox 0.10.0

Ok, this is a GNOME sound issue. Only after changing the "Sound playback" device to "USB Audio" from System->Preferences->Sound did it work!
