rhythmbox time slider not working

the time slider in my rhythmbox doesnt work well. it moves to the location when clicked on that place but the pointer moves to initial location and doesnt move to time its playing. other than that the player plays music normally and no other problem. pls suggest a solution for this.

This is not a problem of the program but rather the video file. Try with some other video file

See if installing ubuntu-restricted-extras then trying Rhythmbox again works. I remember seeing this issue on my system at one time, it was a codec rather then a Rhythmbox issue.

it solved the issue...
