Artist names are sorted incoherently

Since Lucid, it seems that RB will sort the artist names of newly added tracks differently while simultaneously keeping the sorting order of older tracks.

Example: In my collection, "Bob Dylan" is sorted under B. "Van Morrison": M. "The Beatles": B. "The Velvet Underground": T. It's a mess. I don't consider re-adding everything to my database a viable solution since that'll cost me a ton of meta data. Right clicking and manually modifying half of the "Sort" tags seems a drag, too.

Is this behavior a bug, is it intended?

EDIT: After further inquiry, the culprit may well be Sound Juicer, setting an unsolicited artistsort-tag.
