How to copy playlists from Rhythmbox to Sansa Fuze

Asked by Aaron Whitehouse

I have a Sansa Fuze and use Rhythmbox on Lucid Lynx.

I have spent a long time creating playlists in Rhythmbox and now want to put these on my Sansa Fuze. Unfortunately, the Fuze uses .PLA files (which look like:
PLP PLAYLIST

VERSION 1.20

HARP, MUSIC\913186604.flac

HARP, MUSIC\969597242.mp3
) and Rhythmbox cannot export them.

I have already found my solution, but it was so helpful that I wanted to create an "Answer" so that others could find it more easily.

which has a bash script with a GUI!

Note that you will need to copy and paste the text from the top Code: box (which begins #!/bin/bash) into a blank file called something.sh, make that executable (right-click, permissions, checkbox) and then double-click it.
