you can use the command:

ls

which is lowercase LS. This will list the files in the pwd (present working directory). This is synonymous with:

dir

in windows

You should use terminal to do that. How about while listening music?

In “rhythmbox”, I cant select directory to play.
I have 500 file, it says 374 is unknown artis, 374 unknown title,

You asked "How do you list contents of a directory" so YES. I read your question. If you run:

man ls

the top lines say:

NAME
       ls - list directory contents

So maybe you should reword your question to:

"How can I retag my files" or something like that.....

I have 10 directory under music directory, under some there are mp3, ogg files, under some there are subdirectories.
Let me take one example,
I have "Hotel Costes - Discography" directory,
under it there is "Hôtel Costes - Vol. 3 - Etage 3"
under it there
01 - a reminescent drive - ambrosia.MP3
02 - Shirley Bassey - Where Do I Begin (Away Team.mp3
03 - cosmos sound club - les chrysanthemes.MP3
04 - Stereo Action Unlimited - Hi-fi Trumpet (Boyz.mp3
05 - Coco Steel & Lovebomb - Yachts.mp3
06 - hacienda - late lounge lover-sb.mp3
07 - Latazz.mp3
08 - cujo - superstars of rock - apollo (adam gold.MP3
09 - Cruisin'.mp3
10 - timeless.MP3
11 - stephane pompougnac - pnc aux portes.MP3
12 - nickodemus - cleopatra in new york.MP3
13 - trouble makers - electrorloge.mp3
14 - Last tango in Paris.mp3
15 - Lustral - Every Time (A Man Ca.mp3

It is imported. Like other thousand mp3's. If I look for lustral I got one file "15 - Lustral - Every Time (A Man Ca.mp3" no problem I can play it. I want to know how you play these 15 song? There is no option to select folder. Folder is imported.

Or try VLC.

However, lets say the album is Costes - Vol. 3, when marked it shows the tracks below in the browser, then [Play].

Easytag does multiple files. You can also use id3tag in command line to do a lot of files in one go. I suggest you rip youraudio better in future. Saves hassle

Sorry, I don't get, what do you mean with file, tracks or album? There're 374 albums?

Lets say I want to play one album in the list.
In the right window the first line shows all albums.
One of the albums is lets say Costes - Vol. 3 (15), which includes 15 tracks.
Now, when I click on Costes, the 15 tracks appear in the window below.
Now, I click on play and all 15 tracks are played, one after one, I don't need to mark each track.

Lets say I want to play all albums.
I click on the first line -> all albums, then on play, it'll play all tracks in there one after one.
