Ping hostname error

Asked by Yuan Youlei

When I ping google.com, or other hostnames, it prompt “unknown name or server”, while ping 8.8.8.8, it's ok.

I find all solutions, find that "downgrade to resolvconf_1.78ubuntu2_all", it will be fixed.

the lasted version 1.79 will add "127.0.0.53 " to the first line /etc/resolv.conf, I guess this is the root cause.

If you run:

echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf > /dev/null

Then try, is it OK?

I have tried this method, It's Ok, but the reslov.conf will be rewrite by netmanager after reboot.

Is the system a laptop or is it a desktop that never moves?
