Because the version presently in the repo is without issue. If you report a bug and the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated. Packageso are not updated just because a new release is out. This is especially true in LTS releases

Well, the documentation for the authorization stuff is not available at the web site. The documentation is about 0.9 and it really confused me to see that the things did not work as documented. After lots of wasted hours I looked at the source, just to notice that the file referenced did not exist. After digging in the mud of the repo I found that the authorisation stuff has been rewritten. I can either go with an few feature, undocumented version 0.8 or ...
I really thought I should throw the junk away. And I'm quite sure I'm not the only one. And it's not the software, it's simply a packaging issue.
The only clean solutions I see are either change the web site to have a documentation per version or to update the package.

Can you help with this problem?
