About reason nemo client support

Asked by Tiger Beard

I am using rabbitvcs-nemo in xfce with nemo since 18.04 and is works pretty well. I had been using the embrosyn PPA which is not maintained any more for Jammy.
As nemo is part of the same standard Ubuntu repository as rabbitvcs I wonder if here is a specific reason why the Nemo client is not part of it. Looking at the project code on the github page, their nemo client is a current as the others.

If there is no specific reason not to include it there might have been just not request for it. So here is one, at least :-).

Thanks for your work!

I see three options for you:

1. Contact the provider of the PPA and ask, that they provide an updated versio for jammy

2. Create such PPA yourself or build that package locally for yourself

2. Create a bug report to request adding the rabbitvcs-nemo package. You have to be aware, that development is done only for the current development release of Ubuntu, which currently is 22.10 (kinetic).
You have to be aware that Ubuntu is copying packages from Debian, and as far as I can see, this package does not exist in Debian either. (only the related packages rabbitvcs-nautilus and rabbitvcs-thunar exist in Debian and Ubuntu)

Right, thanks for the detailed info. I see it makes sense to check with Debian.
