dev limit folders GB question

Hello i was just curious about some development methods since some peeps is prob likely more experienced then me on things...
Is it possible to limit a Folder size with C++ development scripts, or JavaScript, lets say 5GB maximum on a folder something like quota works?
I would use Quota but it has the issue of freezing up at boot screen when enabled and all

You can use quotas. Just set the owner of the folder to a user then set the quota of that user to what you desire.

Apparently thats not an open i guess ill have to wait till it is fixed and im sure you missed the I would use Quota but it has the issue of freezing up at boot screen is kind a thing lol =D
