QtAudioEngine availability after Trusty

Asked by Ville Ranki

I'm writing a QML application using QtAudioEngine, which was available in trusty in qtdeclarative5-qtaudioengine-plugin.

In vivid the package has been discontinued. What are plans for it? What would be the replacement when QML's Audio is not flexible enough?

see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtmultimedia-opensource-src-touch/+publishinghistory and click on the triangle in the line with 'Utopic' and you will see

Removal requested on 2014-06-19.
Ubuntu Touch now uses media-hub rather than gstreamer; blocks Qt 5.3 transition

So apparently https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/media-hub is the proposed replacement.
(I do not know whether that is usable for you.)

Thanks. Media-hub seems to be very poorly documented - i still haven't found QML API docs or a single example for using it. But i guess this answers my question.
