Qbittorrent won't run

Asked by RayArdia on 2012-11-07

QBittorrent has been running perfectly for a considerable time - also on Ubuntu 12.04.
It will now no longer open though locked to Launcher, icon doesn't 'flash' when clicked.Attempts via Dash results in same situation.
Tried reinstalling, terminal output is:-
ray@ray-Aspire-5735:~$ sudo apt-get install qbittorrent
[sudo] password for ray:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
qbittorrent is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
ray@ray-Aspire-5735:~$

Any suggestions please?

Hmm, what is the output of:

dpkg -l | grep torrent

Thanks

@Andrew: there was a small typo in your original command.

The i was missing in qbittorrent.

@RayArdia: What is the output of these 2 commands?

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy qbittorrent

dpkg -l | grep torrent

An apology to Marco - I addressed him as Mark in a previous post - ancient brain only in 2nd gear!

Where to from here please?

Have you tried:

mv ~/.config/qBittorrent ~/.config/qBittorrent_old

Then running the app?

RayArdia (theallinsons) said : #12

Output is:-
ray@ray-Aspire-5735:~$ mv ~/.config/qBittorrent ~/.config/qBittorrent_old
mv: cannot stat `/home/ray/.config/qBittorrent': No such file or directory

What is the output of:

ls ~/.config

Thanks

Also, why are you using sudo with gedit, and why are you using sudo at ll? The file is in your own home folder so you have full access....sudo (and gksudo) are not even needed.....

looks like it renamed ok, can you now run the app?

RayArdia (theallinsons) said : #16

Went to Dash and, after giving me a warning about file-sharing (as if it was opening for the first-ever Time) it loaded OK and runs.
What did I do wrong to cause the problem, any ideas?

Can you help with this problem?
