Update to 2.0.10?

Asked by eteq

Can pyzmq be updated to 2.0.10 for Natty? zmq itself is already 2.0.10, and Debian has the 2.0.10 python-zmq pacakage ready in experimental (http://packages.qa.debian.org/p/pyzmq.html) - this is important for ipython, as the current development versions require an up-to-date pyzmq...

Your question can be interpreted in four ways (that I can think of):

(1) Asking if it is possible to install pyzmq 2.0.10 in Ubuntu Natty.
(2) Asking how to install pyzmq 2.0.10 in Ubuntu Natty.
(3) Asking if there are major technical obstacles to providing pyzmq 2.0.10 in Ubuntu Natty via the universe repository.
(4) Requesting that developers provide 2.0.10 in Ubuntu Natty via the universe repository.

Which of these do you mean? (I understand that it might be more than one.)

I meant #4 (although I suppose #3 is a prerequisite for #4). Sorry for the confusion.

To request that developers provide pyzmq 2.0.10 in Ubuntu Natty via the universe repository, you should file a bug report / feature request. First, please read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs carefully. Then (after checking to see if someone else has already submitted this as a bug), submit your bug report / feature request, making sure to include the reason why you believe it is important that version 2.0.10 be provided in Natty. Once you have submitted your bug, you can link this question to it (which will also create a link in the bug) by using the "Link existing bug" hyperlink in this question. Don't be shy to repeat information that's already here, in your bug; in fact, developers should not have to visit this question, in order to fully understand and appreciate your bug.
