How to choose the appropriate novaclient version

Asked by Jetson Luo

I am using the OpenStack with Victoria version, i am not sure which python novaclient should i use. Is the novaclient is backward compatible, so i just need to use the latest version of novaclient. What about other api client? E.g., cinderclient, neutronclient, etc. Looking forward to the reply. Thank u in advance.

Looking at the change log of python-novaclient https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-novaclient/+changelog I see

python-novaclient (2:17.2.0-0ubuntu1) groovy; urgency=medium
  * New upstream release for OpenStack Victoria.

So I expect that any python-novaclientversion higher or equal 2:17.2.0-0ubuntu1 will be fine (available in the standard Ubuntu repositories since Ubuntu groovy). Which Ubuntu release are you running?

Can you help with this problem?
