python3-ephem 3.7.7.0 for Xenial/Bionic

Asked by Bernmeister

Latest version of PyEphem is 3.7.7.0 which Focal provides as python3-ephem. However both Xenial/Bionic are still on version 3.7.6.0. Is it possible to have the latest version included in Xenial/Bionic?

You could try manually installing the python3-ephem package for focal on your bionic system.
In some ecases such action works well, but it may also fail miserably because of broken dependencies.

Sorry, but this will probably fail. python3-ephem for focal needs python version 3.7 or higher, and that is not available in Ubuntu bionic (and not in xenial either).

Appreciate the fast response. Not the answer I wanted but c'est la vie.
