If you log a bug stating what bug fixes are in the new version it may get included sooner if they are significant it will be included faster. You can use the terminal to ssh to servers. You don't really need an extra client.

If you also use Windoze, Putty is one of the essential opensource cross platform tools, along with Filezilla, notepad++ and winscp although you have to run the latter 2 under wine with Ubuntu! I also use Putty with the serial port interface.

Probably very little change except version number since oneiric appears to use a very recent development snapshot and the one in natty is also quite recent
