ProFTPD Upload fails with 'link to file server lost'

When uploading files to the server the transfer will fail with an error of '450 Transfer aborted. Link to file server lost'.

Upon investigating I was able to find this bug logged in the ProFTPD GitHub.

This has been fixed in 1.3.7 and back patched into 1.3.6d. as mentioned in the release notes: https://github.com/proftpd/proftpd/blob/1.3.6/RELEASE_NOTES

I am just wondering how I can request this be considered to be patched in the package that is in the focal repo?
