When will be possible to have the last stable version ?

Asked by starslights

Hello,

I run kubuntu karmic 9.10 on x86 64 and i see that is the last privoxy stable version not updated so far.

It will be really great if the repo for karmic and Lucid 64 will upgraded to the last 3.0.16 who are a lot of corrections bugs and improvements

Thanks in advance for a answer

Best Regards

Stars,

Ubuntu does not use a "rolling" release strategy - meaning once a version is released - packages do not typically get updated, except to fix security issues or major bugs.

I searched for a PPA archive at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=privoxy for privoxy and still didn't find the version that you mentioned.

I can say that Lucid will be using privoxy 3.0.15

Best of luck,
George

Hello George,

Thanks for your answer this release are done and updated on all platforms except ubuntu and debian.

That's the announcement:
 Announcing Privoxy v.3.0.16 stable
-----------------------------------------------------------------

This is the first stable release since 3.0.12. It mainly contains
bugfixes for the previous betas which introduced IPv6 support,
improved keep-alive support and a bunch of minor improvements.

See http://www.privoxy.org/3.0.16/user-manual/whatsnew.html for details.

http://www.privoxy.org/

The problem are that i have already use the version for Lucid who are 3.0.15 but still a beta, so that's the reason i ask to upgraded to the stable version 3.0.16.

I can build my own but for security , i like better upgraded such thing by the original repo.

So i hope that someone will look about :D

Thanks in advance

Stars,

You might want to have a look at the Backports documentation at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports perhaps, if the version in questions qualifies you could submit it for backporting.

Good luck,
George
