explain how to connect internet connection through DSL modem

explain me how to connect the internet connection through "DSL"modem .
explain me step-by-step so that i get connected.
 i am using DSL MODEM of model UT300R2U which is provided by BSNL network.
and i am using AMD processer. and as for my infomation i know username,password. that's it.
there is no other infomation and am new user to ubuntu 9.10 home edition.
please help me ou.....

You can ttry with applications>accessories>terminal and type

sudo pppoeconf
