problem with sudo pppoeconf

Asked by Sumantvp

Hi,
I have installed ubuntu 8.10(intrepid ibex) on my laptop.
I have a bsnl adsl wireless connection.
When i try sudo pppoeconf it says
"Sorry I scanned 1 interface but the access concentrator of your provider did not respond. Please check your network and modem cables. Another reason for the scan failure may also be another running pppoe process which controls the modem"
The internet connection works fine in windows xp anyone got any ideas.

You must set the wireless device to get access to your router...
pppoeconf will scan your configured devices... such as wired device plugged on the lan port via cable (i never used pppoeconf on wireless connections).

So please close this question and ask new one "How to configure wireless" or similar...
Please provide detaild and the result of the terminal command i write you below...

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal

lspci

copy and paste the result on your new question...

Thank you
