anybody please help me connect to internet

hello everybody, i installed ubuntu 8.04 within windows xp successfully but i am unable to connect to internet and i have a broadband connection which requires a username and password and i entered those fields using terminal i typed there sudo pppoeconf and i found two ethernet devices there and at last i choose a option to connect to internet now and i got a message that my device has been trigerred and i also uses pon dsl-provider but all in vain anybody please help me and i am messaging to you from same computer but using windows xp i have copied a text from terminal here, wishing that it will help to solve my problem please give me a reply ...............................................................................................................................
