Is there a version for PG 8.4 on the way?

I need both postgis and pljava for my Postgres database. At the moment in Lucid there is postgis for 8.4 (but not 8.3) and pljava for 8.3 (but not 8.4). Is there a reason for this? Are there clashes in dependencies? I'm trying to build a package that relies on both. I would prefer to have it based on Lucid LTS and at the moment I'm stuck with Hardy!

In fact there isn't a postgresql-8.3 pacakge in Lucid so the current postgresql-8.3-pljava-gcj package cannot be installed.
