Attached is a debdiff to fix this problem in Karmic which I propose as an SRU. It is a one-line patch which did not cause any regression in Lucid, so I think it will be very helpful for Karmic users. This bug affects 8 persons and has one duplicate, so there are several users with a PostScript printer from Brother.
