How to connect to gmail (uses SSL encryption)

I have used pop3browser successfully for several years to remove spam from my inbox on yahoo mail. Now I would like to add my gmail account which uses SSL encrypted logins and would be grateful for your advice about how to do that.

It does not support SSL on it's own, but you can use something like stunnel: http://info.mailtraq.com/626/text.nc

Thanks. I understand that pop3browser cannot directly access the mailboxes of gmail because it does not support SSL used by Google. I also understand that there is a workaround using stunnel.

For me this is not worth the setting up of stunnel with perhaps the need to sort out consequential problems with other networking applications already installed.
