after successful suspend no start anymore

pm-suspend worked efficiently and computer is sleeping. Some time later (for more then an hour) after switching it on again, the power seems to be on (lamp) but nothing is working anymore. No X, no networking (ping to the computer will fail), keyboard seems to be down, I can not verify that.
Question, how can I get a reasonable recording of the process (pm-suspend and power on?) Only that way, I would be able to ask a clear question.
One remark, I have an NVIDIA card and purged all drivers from the computer, since it gave me trouble with OpenGL2.
