I think this version sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my laptop on the 11.04 vs when I closed the lid it shut down my computer. This vs does not even have this option unless I don't C it!!!

It's there.

Open System settings, Click on the "Power" icon. Available settings are suspend and hibernate. If you still have problems, try these:
