Back up software for Ubuntu

I am using MSI U100 Netbook with Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty Jackalope - release in April 2009.

Please tell me what software should I use to back up my files from my hard disk drive to my external USB flash drive?

Is there a software that will automatically back up my files when I insert my USB flash drive?

If Automatic back up using USB flash drive is not possible, please tell me what software should I use that will back up my hard disk drive documents to a new back up folder?

I guess, it's very simpel. In Nautilus use CNTRL-C and CNTRL-V to save your data.

I was doing that but I was getting errors...I can't back up my Mozilla. I was looking for a software that can give me a better back up solution.

Hi

under Application > Add/Remove or System > Synaptic Package Manager you search "Backup" there you should find different back up programms. i use "Back In Time" you can easy set up the back up to your needs.

I am now using luckyBackup which I plan to try for 1 month. Then, I'll try your suggestion "Back In Time". Based in your experience, is Back In Time better than luckyBackup?

Hi Rommel

I've no experience with luckyBackup and Back In Time is doing the job so I'm quiet happy. I suggested Back In Time as it gives you different backup options.

Hey guys, I currently run Ubuntu 12.10 alongside my windows 8 and I am looking for a reliable back up tool. Is Ubuntu a better option for backing up my files than windows 8? If it is, can u recommend an app that does this well.
